history
Beginnings:

In 2001 while crossing the quad at a Midwestern University, Eugenio (ou-jen-yo) developed the idea to start an original clothing brand that would strike up conversations. Unfortunately, like his dream of attending Clown College, the idea would take a back seat to studies, work, and tales that only he could animate.

In 2002, after graduation and waiting for someone to give him a “real job” he returned to the East Coast and went to work at the mall. In the midst of folding clothing and returning a shirt with stains and no tags, he realized that he was tired of hawking somebody else’s unoriginal goods and that it was time for a change.

Eugenio contacted friends and informed them of the decision he made. At that moment the iconic brand idea took shape and began its journey. To finance and better enhance the company he continued the daily grind and produced limited runs of shirts.

After working for a yellow giant, Eugenio partnered with Jackson (jack-sun) and set up a studio in the Mid-West. They would set the ground work and let the company evolve based on what they learned from the past; their random experiences; and the people they know and connect with. Eugenio and Jackson along with a talented cast of characters bring you forth the stories that make up the brand.

Eugenio – If it wasn’t for RAC…

At one point, I stepped out of the retail world and took an exciting position with numbers. There I learned that riding a scooter around an office is frowned upon and that screaming “Happy New Year (insert country name)” on December 31st for different countries makes others annoyed after the fifth proclamation.

After that, I embarked on a new career as a brand ambassador. There I would save people from green meat and learn to build displays from various food products. All in all, I say I got some inspiration for design from this experience.

Eventually, I left the CPG industry and the east coast behind to learn about brightly colored books with words & how they influence people’s daily lives. As colorful as the pages were, so were the characters I met. Enough said.

Jackson – Ramblings

I like people, yes even the annoying ones. When I was a child I would break things open to see if I could put them back together – I think at this point I realized it was best not to be a doctor, mechanic, or engineer. I like to sit and watch people – not in a creepy way. I like to sit and stare out the window and get lost in my thoughts.

I like airports. I like to travel by plane, but I like to drive more. Trust me- you don’t get the same feeling from the emergency exit speech when you play it in your car. On a trip with others, don’t refer to them as stewardess/steward, but you can call them co-pilot or navigator. I like to watch television. Sometimes I don’t look at the guide and go through every channel. I like to wander the streets and sometimes get lost, not really lost because that’s scary. I like 10 seconds of all music. I like to stay up late, really late, or for some of you I like to go to sleep early, really early. So now you know what inspires me.
